“Facta non verba”.........“Deeds not words”
Welcome to Local 2724 Swanton Sector.  Our portion of Local 2724 , known officially as NBPC
Local 2724, represents non-supervisory Border Patrol employees who work in the Swanton Border
Patrol Sector.  The Swanton Sector area of responsibility encompasses some 24,000 square miles and
includes the State of Vermont; Clinton, Essex, Franklin, St. Lawrence and Herkimer counties of New
York; and Coos, Grafton and Carroll counties of New Hampshire. This area includes 261 miles of
International Boundary, from the Maine-New Hampshire state line on the east. Of the 261 miles of
border, 173 miles are land border and 88 miles are water boundary, chiefly the St. Lawrence River.
The Swanton Sector has eight stations to monitor activity along the International Boundary. The
stations from west to east with miles of boundary responsibility are: Ogdensburg, New York (48);
Massena, New York (34); Burke, New York (31); Champlain, New York (29); Swanton, Vermont
(18); Richford, Vermont (21); Newport, Vermont (32) and Beecher Falls, Vermont (78).

We are the exclusive representative of Border Patrol personnel.  Our representatives are trained
volunteers who represent employees at all eight Border Patrol Stations, as well as those who work at
the Sector Headquarters Office.  Representatives assist members in all aspects of their Federal
Employment, including issues regarding discipline, grievances, worker's compensation and access to
the PORAC Legal Defense Fund.  We are a non-partisan organization; by Federal Law, we do not
make any contributions to political parties or candidates.  Local 2724 is under the direction of an
Executive Board.  Each Station has a Non-Supervisory Agent who has volunteered to represent his or
her fellow agents as a shop steward.
